The Trans-America Challenge 2012

7th May - 8th June 2012

  • The Route

We have a route plan of over 8,000 miles that takes in some of the most breathtaking roads in America - so remote, the detailed route-book  that has taken months to stitch together lists only one roundabout.

  • The Participants

51 cars with a range of international crews will drive this spectacular route. From a 1927 Bentley Le Mans to a 1970 Ford Capri, there was a fantastic selection of motor cars and an even finer selection of people..

  • Reports & Results

"There is a mood of mounting excitement as the day has now almost arrived for the flagging off with everyone keen to get underway. In the hotel  bar last night, the barman solemnly announced that we had drunk him dry - he had run out of beer."

From Coast to Coast across America and on to Alaska

The Trans-America Challenge is an exciting classic car rally from sea to shining sea, through the spectacular sights of the ‘land of the free and the home of the brave’, organised by the hugely experienced ERA team with over 65 international events under their belt.

The journey from New York, on the east coast of the USA, to the furthest flung point of Alaska in the 50th State will take the participants through some of the best and most spectacular scenery and roads that both the United States and Canada has to offer in the company of fellow enthusiasts.

We got home on Friday after a very pleasant week spent wandering around Alaska after the event finished. The Trans Am was a truly splendid experience and we're very grateful to everyone at ERA for all the hard work that went into it.
